I HATE AMAZON

Short Rant! Basically Thought I'd order book online. Thanks to Amazon's piss planing and co-ordination with the Royal Mail. I am forced to spend the day without the book and purcahse one tomorrow morning!!!!!!

I am very annoyed and will be returning the book the moment it arrives.

  3. I had a terrible run-in with Amazon. I had to complain to my credit card company, and Amazon corporate waited the fill 90 days to respond- with a totally fraudulent account of the transaction.
There are criminals in there. I know a former coworker who moved to work there; he was a total jerk and he loves it there.

  4. I ordered 2 books and a calender from amazon. due to one of the books not being in print yet they held up the entire order including the calender which was losing its practical value day by day. I decided to cancel the book which had to be printed despite the fact that it was the main point of my order and instead order another book so that I would keep my supersaver free delivery. Amazon allowed me to cancel the book but no way would it allow me to order a book in its place. Supersaver delivery lost. As a further insult the send date for the other book and the calender didn't change so I had lost the book I wanted in the interests of speeding the delivery up and what I was left with was a pricier delivery which was still just as slow. I cancelled the other book and calender because they were really worth nothing to me arriving 6 weeks after I ordered them and when I did Amazon had no provision for redeeming the gift voucher which had originally caused me to shop there in the first place. So no books, no calender, no gift voucher, two weeks of waiting wasted. If you ever do business with amazon keep your voucher codes and receipts till you get the books. This probably won't help you though. Why is there no real competitor for amazon? they seem to have a monopoly. Shop at the book depository or abebooks. Favour the little guys before we are left with one incompetent uber book merchant and we are all doomed.

  6. I really hate amazon. I am a seller there, and have been cheated by them many times. I still make some money with them, and so I still sell there. But they make it more and more difficult everyday. I am seriously getting to believe they are stealing from the customers. Let me explain.

When you place an order, Amazon charges your credit card, not the seller. Amazon also charges you a shipping charge, which does not go towards shipping - that is probably illegal as fraud. Amazon does give a paltry shipping allowance to the seller, usually $2.50 to $5.00, which is normally only half of what they charge you, the customer.

I have to ship the product immediately, regardless of the shipping cost, or risk getting closed down. If the customer claims he never gets the product, even if I can prove I sent it and it was delivered, Amazon deducts the product and shipping amount from my pay and never changes their mind. All decisions are final. No help, no resolution, nothing. I have had at least 5 customers send me emails that they have received the product, and plenty others that I have proven by FedEx and the Post Office that the product was delivered, and Amazon still took my money back.

They are crooks. They charge customers for shipping, which does not go to shipping or product. Oh, in case you are not aware, Amazon charges sellers a $39.95 monthly fee, and a 15% fee for each sale, and then take over 2 weeks to pay, even though they got their money up front. And, if I show that they are paying me the wrong amount, there is no recourse whatsoever.

Amazon also has the "Advantage" program. Well, let me tell you who they are taking advantage of -- the seller. In the Advantage program, the seller pays a $40 monthly fee, and then is asked to send at least 2 copies of each product, for free, and pay the shipping, to Amazon. Amazon then lists the product at the price they feel like, regardless of the sellers price. After it sells, Amazon takes up to 45 days to pay (get this) 55% of the sale price. Amazon keeps a 45% commission, for product they got for free. And yes, Amazon still charges the customer a shipping fee which is 5 times higher than the actual shipping cost, and still does not reimburse the Advantage seller for the shipping. I guess that if you are stupid enough to use the Advantage program you deserve to be taken advantage of by Amazon.

So, they lie and steal from the customers and from their sellers.

Yes, I passionately hate Amazon and eagerly support any of their competitors.
