Back home in Weston for the holidays. Missing London already but been Christmas food shopping with my mum and very excited. Had a very serious talk with my dad yesterday about medicine and if I still want it to do. I really do, but I've started considering other things as backups. Maybe I should be arranging internships etc.
Anyhow that discussion is for another post.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
What about the new healthcare scientist career path, three years at 25k with you master funded then apply to medicine - my plan.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good xmas and medicine doesnt play on your mind to much

Well when I was having a shower (best place for mental clarity), I decided to scrap my backup and just focus on getting into medicine :D
Thanks and Merry Xmas
It's never a bad idea to consider back ups, but at the same time, don't let anyone distract or dissuade you from medicine if it's what you really want to do :)
ReplyDeleteMake sure you get a 2:1 at the end of second year, so you can be predicted one for third year and not have to take a gap year like I am. Except it's not a proper gap year since I'm still studying, but you get what I mean :P
P.S: Have you heard anything back from BL for the A100 degree?
Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI've just started my residency and at many times I wish I had become a hairdresser, or something that's not a matter of life or death.
But I think it's too late for me to change my mind.
Hi
ReplyDeleteWe have been following your blog for a little while here in the studio along with some others and we have put together a top 10 Medical Student blogs of 2011 page on our website. A significant proportion of the 12,000 visitors we get each month to the site are medical students looking for images and information so we thought it would be a nice thing to do.
You came in at number 8 (sorry you didn't come number 1), but I thought you might like to see what we wrote about your blog.

Good luck with the career in medicine and let us know if you need any illustrations for clinical papers!
Kind regards
